NEW TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Organizers of the "2024 Christmasland in New Taipei City" (2024新北歡樂耶誕城) wrapped up their 48-day festival on Wednesday (Jan. 1), drawing approximately 7.7 million visitors to the city. The festival, which began Nov. 15, featured a dazzling LED castle, a transformative magical main lantern, and a series of enchanting events, including the "Magical Costume Children's Party," "Magical Dreamland German Christmas Market," and "Magical Superstar Christmas Concert."
The city's travel department emphasized the festival's dreamlike installations and themed container markets. They invited international intellectual properties and famous landmarks to Wanping Park (萬坪公園) and Citizen Square (市民廣場), enhancing the city's allure. The "Magical Costume Children's Party" offered a Christmas costume parade and whimsical magic shows, while the "Magical Dreamland German Christmas Market" showcased over 50 exotic food and merchandise stalls, creating a festive atmosphere that attracted both domestic and international tourists.
