NEW TAIPEI (TVBS News) — New Taipei City's Christmasland (新北歡樂耶誕城) will wrap up its enchanting festivities on Wednesday (Jan. 1). Since Nov. 15, this "City of Magic" (魔幻之城) has mesmerized visitors with immersive light displays, interactive installations, and a vibrant holiday atmosphere. The dazzling lights, which illuminate daily from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m., feature five-minute shows every 30 minutes, continuing in silence after 10 p.m.
Throughout the 48-day celebration, attendees have delighted in classic light shows and meticulously crafted art installations. As the event draws to a close, visitors can still explore 50 food stalls and creative merchandise over the weekend, offering a perfect chance for last-minute shopping and indulgence.
Meanwhile, anime and running enthusiasts are gearing up for the annual 2025 Volleyball Club (排球少年) Road Running event on May 24, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., at New Taipei Metropolitan Park (新北大都會公園). With registration closing on Tuesday, marketing representative Lin Ying-tzu (林盈慈) expressed hope for an immersive running experience by integrating Volleyball Club-related activities along the track.
Organizers disclosed that participants could also collect merchandise featuring iconic characters from the anime series. As the year comes to an end, they encourage people to gather with friends and family at the MRT Bannan Line's Banqiao (板橋) and Fuzhong (府中) stations to welcome 2025 together.
