The strongest northeast monsoon of the season is set to reach Taiwan by Friday evening and will last for four days, according to meteorologist Wu Der-rong. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions for the cold. The Central Weather Administration predicts mostly clear to partly cloudy skies on Wednesday, with high temperatures ranging from 30 to 32 degrees Celsius in the western regions and 27 to 29 degrees in the eastern regions. The northeast monsoon weakening will result in concentrated rain in the eastern regions and the Hengchun Peninsula, with minimal precipitation elsewhere. Wu attributes the stable, sunny weather and significant rise in temperature from Wednesday through Friday to the influence of ＂Indian summer＂. However, Wu warns of significantly colder weather by next week, with Taipei’s minimum temperature potentially dropping to around 18 degrees and lows across the flatlands likely to dip below 15 degrees.

Taiwan continues to experience conditions from the northeast monsoon, resulting in sporadic rainfall in windward areas across the north and east. Southern regions have scattered showers, while higher chances of rain are expected in the afternoons and areas close to the mountains. Central Taiwan is mostly cloudy, with patchy rainfall in the mountainous regions in the afternoon. Areas north of Taoyuan, Yilan, and Hualien remain slightly chilly with maximum temperatures ranging from 23-25 degrees Celsius, while other regions could witness temperatures between 27-30 degrees.

The Central Weather Administration (CWA) reported that the northeast monsoon and rain from South China on October 28 brought cloud coverage and sporadic showers to Taiwan. Temperatures in northern Taiwan ranged from 20-22 degrees Celsius for the lows and 23-25 degrees for the highs, while other regions saw temperatures between 21-24 degrees. The Matsu Islands had the lowest temperature of 16.8 degrees, while Qidu District, Keelung City, and Guanxi Township, Hsinchu County recorded lows of 19.2 and 19.5 degrees, respectively. The cool weather in the northern and northeastern regions is expected to continue through Sunday and Monday due to the northeast monsoon. From Tuesday to Thursday, temperatures are forecasted to gradually rise with less rain, mainly in the north and east, while the Hengchun Peninsula will continue to experience rain. Next Friday to Sunday, Taiwan can expect cloudy to sunny conditions, with isolated showers at night in eastern regions and along Keelung’s north coast.
