Passengers traveling through the airport, also known as Taipei International Airport, should take note of the new transportation cost changes, especially during peak travel periods such as New Year’s Day, the Lunar New Year, and the 228 holidays. The airport authorities have urged scheduled taxi operators to provide quality service and inform passengers about the fee change through verbal explanations and in-vehicle signs. Additionally, the airport offers free parking for the first 30 minutes, providing some relief for those being dropped off by family members.

A Formosan black bear, injured at a coffee plantation in Taiwan, has been released back into the wilderness after four months of intensive care. The bear, named ＂Da qu-ali＂ after a Bunun indigenous leader, triggered a trap in July and underwent successful surgery to recover. Weighing 101 kilograms, the bear was deemed fit for reintroduction. Major wildlife conservation organizations participated in the release, which included a divine naming ceremony led by tribe chief Ho Cheng-chung. The Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency used the incident to highlight the importance of wildlife conservation and encouraged local residents to create bear-friendly environments.

The Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA) has stated that the reintroduction of early bird tickets for the Tze-Chiang Limited Express will not be considered until the occupancy rate reaches at least 70% or exceeds 80%. Liu Shuang-huo, Director of the TRA Transportation Division, mentioned that early bird tickets could impact the performance of early morning, late-night, and off-peak trains.

The Ministry of National Defense in Taiwan plans to deposit 6% of conscripts’ monthly wages for their pension, with the policy set to be enacted as scheduled. Mandatory service of one year will be reintroduced next year for those born after 2005.
