Typhoon Talim, the fourth typhoon this year, is heading toward Guangdong Province and is expected to intensify into a moderate typhoon. From Monday (July 17) to Wednesday (July 19), Taiwan will be affected by a monsoon gyre, resulting in a high possibility of afternoon thunderstorms and localized torrential rains.

The Central Weather Bureau (CWB) pointed out that strong southwest winds have resulted in foehn winds in Taitung County. Pingtung County and Hualien County are under an orange alert, with a high probability of extreme temperatures reaching 38 degrees Celsius.
