TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Mild Typhoon Guchol is forecasted to intensify into a moderate typhoon in the afternoon or evening Thursday (June 8), according to the Central Weather Bureau (CWB).
Around noon, the weather in various parts of Taiwan remains hot. The CWB has stated that Typhoon Guchol, the third typhoon of the year, is expected to strengthen into a moderate typhoon within the next few hours.
Despite its potential upgrade in intensity, Typhoon Guchol is not projected to directly affect Taiwan. However, as a front approaches from the north, northern Taiwan will experience rainy weather throughout the day with intermittent showers.
The rain could extend to the central and eastern regions by Saturday. Starting Monday, the probability of rainfall and thunderstorms will further increase across the island. It is advised for people, particularly in the central-southern and eastern regions, to carry rain gear when venturing outdoors.
