TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Cooler mornings and evenings marked the weather across Taiwan on Thursday (Feb. 27), with temperatures ranging from 14 to 17 degrees Celsius, according to the Central Weather Administration (CWA, 氣象署). The daytime brought a more comfortable climate, with highs between 20 and 24 degrees, and southern regions reaching up to 26 degrees.
Cloud systems from South China continued moving east, bringing increased cloud cover and isolated showers to the central and northern parts of Taiwan, as well as the eastern regions, Penghu and Kinmen. The CWA warned of potential visibility issues due to fog or low clouds, particularly in the early morning hours, urging travelers to check flight information and drive safely.
The lowest temperature recorded this morning was 12.9 degrees in Shiding District (石碇區), New Taipei City. The CWA noted that while today remained cool in the early and late hours, warmer weather is expected from Friday through Sunday, with mostly cloudy to sunny skies. A front passing through next Tuesday will bring a noticeable drop in temperatures as the northeast monsoon strengthens.
The forecast predicts continued warm weather next Monday, with some areas experiencing brief showers due to the approaching front. Northern and northeastern regions will see a shift to sporadic showers, while other areas will remain mostly cloudy to sunny. The CWA advised residents to prepare for the cooler conditions anticipated next week.
