TAOYUAN (TVBS News) — Around 211 flights, including 105 inbound and 106 outbound flights, had been canceled due to Typhoon Krathon as of 8 a.m. on Thursday (Oct. 3), according to the Taoyuan International Airport Corporation (桃園國際機場公司).
The Central Weather Administration (CWA, 中央氣象署) reported that Typhoon Krathon, with its expanding storm circle, reached southern Changhua, Penghu, and the Hualien-Taitung areas by 6 a.m. Thursday.
According to the airport's 8 a.m. statistics, the typhoon's increasing influence led to the cancellation of 85 passengers and 20 cargo inbound flights and 88 passengers and 18 cargo outbound flights.
Airport officials urged travelers and those picking up passengers to stay informed about flight changes. They advised checking airline notifications or using airline websites and apps to avoid disruptions in travel plans.
