TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwanese got into the Christmas spirit last weekend by preparing gifts and joining gift exchange parties. But some people received gifts that were quite out of the blue.
A Taiwanese man got a chicken and another woman got a duck as a present for their Christmas gift exchange games.
The man said his roommate gifted out cash and got a live chicken in return. He was really shocked and struggled to get rid of the animal. Traditional markets in Taipei do not butcher chicken anymore and the slaughterhouse won't accept the chicken if there is no health certificate.
In the end, the man said he contacted a vegetarian restaurant in Yangmingshan that promised that the chicken won't get eaten.
Another Facebook user said she bought a coffee machine and got a live duck in return.
