TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Central Weather Administration (CWA, 中央氣象署) issued a heavy rain advisory for 10 cities and counties on Friday (Oct. 25) due to the northeast monsoon and Typhoon Trami's (颱風潭美) peripheral circulation.
The CWA reported that Taipei (台北), Keelung (基隆), and Yilan (宜蘭) should brace for torrential rain. Rain in northern Taiwan is predicted to gradually ease during the day, while the eastern region will see relief in the evening.
From early morning until 7:30 a.m., rainfall in Nan'ao Township (南澳鄉) and Datong Township (大同鄉) in Yilan County (宜蘭縣), and Yangmingshan (陽明山) in Taipei, exceeded 200 millimeters. Additionally, from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m., Suao (蘇澳) in Yilan recorded an hourly rainfall of 74.5 millimeters.
Morning temperatures were cool, ranging from 22-24 degrees Celsius. Daytime temperatures in northern Taiwan are expected to rise, bringing more comfort, with highs between 29 and 32°C in the west and around 27-28°C in the east.
Typhoon Trami was observed at 2 a.m. southwest of Eluanbi (鵝鑾鼻), moving westward. Additionally, a tropical depression southeast of Guam shows signs of developing into a typhoon, heading northwest. Its potential impact on Taiwan remains uncertain.
