TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan is experiencing stable weather with mostly sunny skies and minimal rainfall due to high pressure and easterly winds Friday (Oct. 18). The east and mountain areas may see brief showers in the afternoon, but overall, the weather remains calm and warm, the WeatherRisk (天氣風險公司) reported.
WeatherRisk analyst Lin Hsiao-ru (林孝儒) noted that while rainfall has little impact today, the temperatures are high, ranging from 31 to 35 degrees Celsius. He also warned of significant temperature changes after nightfall due to an approaching weak front.
Taiwan will feel the effects of the northeast monsoon over the weekend, bringing cloudy skies and occasional showers to the north and east. Temperatures will drop, with highs between 26 and 29°C and lows from 22 to 24°C. Mountain areas might experience heavy rain, so residents should monitor weather changes closely.
The northeast monsoon may continue to affect Taiwan from next Tuesday through the following weekend. The weather pattern will likely include overcast skies and brief showers in the windward north and east, with cooler temperatures. However, the monsoon's southward reach remains limited, having minimal impact on central and southern Taiwan.
