TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan's weather will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy on Tuesday (Oct. 15), with more clouds and scattered showers expected along the northern coast of Keelung, Hengchun Peninsula, and the eastern regions, according to the Central Weather Administration (CWA, 氣象署). The administration forecasts an increase in the northeast wind tonight, bringing localized short-term rain to Keelung's northern coast, Yilan, and Hualien, with sporadic showers in Taitung and the Hengchun Peninsula.
On Wednesday, the administration predicts minimal weather impact from a weak, cold high-pressure system moving northward. However, the northeast wind will bring localized short-term rain to the northern coast of Keelung, the Greater Taipei area, and the Yilan-Hualien area. By Thursday, the northeast wind's weakening will lead to mostly cloudy to sunny skies across Taiwan, except for sporadic short showers in the east and afternoon localized showers in the south and mountainous regions.
The CWA anticipates a weather shift on Saturday with a passing front and strengthening northeast monsoon. This will lead to cooler conditions in the north and northeast, alongside localized short-term showers. The northeast monsoon will continue to affect the north and northeast on Sunday and Monday, with cooler mornings and evenings in other areas and localized short-term rain north of Taoyuan and in the east.
Temperatures on Saturday will range from 24 to 29 degrees Celsius in the north and east and 24 to 32 degrees in the central and southern parts. Sunday will see similar temperatures, with the north and east at 23 to 29 degrees and the central and south at 24 to 32 degrees.
