TAIPEI (TVBS News) — WeatherRisk (天氣風險) Analyst Lin Hsiao-ju (林孝儒) warned on Monday (Sept. 23) that northern, central, and eastern Taiwan should brace for localized heavy rainfall.
Lin explained that rainfall would ease Monday morning, but the low-pressure system would still bring overcast skies and occasional showers or thunderstorms. He emphasized that northern, central, and eastern regions are prone to heavier rain throughout the day.
Looking ahead, Lin predicted that Tuesday and Wednesday would see mostly cloudy or sunny skies, with brief showers in the windward northern regions. He added that the weather will be relatively stable further south but cautioned about the possibility of afternoon thunderstorms, especially in mountainous areas.
Lin also mentioned potential tropical system developments near the Ryukyu Islands or east of the Philippines from Thursday through the weekend. However, he assured that these systems currently pose no significant threat to Taiwan.
