TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Central Weather Administration (CWA, 氣象署) issued a heavy rain advisory for nine counties and cities on Friday (Sept. 20), forecasting significant rainfall through the evening.
The CWA explained that northern winds and rain would cause temperatures to drop, with highs ranging between 27 and 29 degrees Celsius.
The southern cloud system moving northward will bring scattered short-term showers or thunderstorms to the southern and southeastern regions, while other areas will experience mostly cloudy to clear skies with afternoon thunderstorms.
Rainfall will be more apparent in central regions and mountainous areas, becoming increasingly significant due to a low-pressure system by next Tuesday. The CWA noted that Sunday would see the heaviest rainfall.
The advisory also extends to Taitung County, Lanyu (蘭嶼), and Green Island (綠島). Residents in these regions should prepare for potential heavy downpours and stay informed about weather updates.
