TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Kuomintang (KMT) presidential candidate Hou Yu-ih on Monday (Nov. 21) expressed his intention to wait for Taiwan People's Party (TPP) presidential candidate Ko Wen-je to make a decision.
Hou relayed that Ko recognizes that 60% of the public hopes for cooperation between the KMT and the TPP. "I will wait for you until the very last moment. Your realization, it all lies within your thoughts," Hou said.
The registration deadline for the 2024 presidential race is set to end on Nov. 24. Despite this, Hou has yet to decide on a running mate. His campaign office will run according to schedule, though no candidate for the vice-presidential position has been established.
He emphasized the need for collaboration, saying, "I haven't decided who the candidate will be. The main point is looking forward to everyone working together."
Hou hopes for cooperation to achieve party alternation for Taiwan's prosperity, sustainability, and stability.
