TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Strong winds and heavy rain pounded New Taipei City, causing a scaffolding collapse at a 24-story construction site on Zhongzheng Road in Xinzhuang District in the early hours on Thursday (Aug. 3).
Fortunately, there were no casualties, and authorities have cordoned off the site. Workers are currently cleaning up to prevent any accidents.
Typhoon Khanun has reached the upper limit of a medium typhoon and is currently moving toward the west-northwest off the east coast of Taipei.
The storm circle will likely hit Keelung, the North Coast, and the northern tip of Yilan by noon today.
As Typhoon Khanun draws near, it is imperative to monitor updates and prioritize their safety in the face of severe weather conditions.
