TAIPEI (TVBS News) — A Taiwanese electric scooter brand introduced a new scooter and accessories on Monday (July 31) in collaboration with a Japanese retailer under the concepts of sustainability and simplicity.
Speaking at a product launch event, Gogoro founder and CEO Horace Luke said the collaboration "gives [them] more opportunities to access more customers and increase [their] brand identity."
"It is an expansion of our potential market," he added.
The trendy scooters, designed by the well-known Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa, come in shades of brown and grey. The brown symbolizes trees and the earth, and the grey represents the streets and buildings in the city.
Fukasawa told reporters he thinks "these two companies exist because they are all contributing to society."
The electric scooter brand picked its best-selling models. It incorporated simple and classic aesthetics and sustainable ideas, as some components of the scooter's shell are made of recycled materials.
The product launch event showcased the world's only concept scooter with a shell made of fully recycled material.
