Under Mayor Chen Chi-mai’s leadership, the city has reduced its debt by NT$10.6 billion by the end of 2022, surpassing the goal of a NT$10 billion reduction. Kaohsiung aims to continue strengthening its financial and environmental sustainability and implement comprehensive net-zero policies as it works toward a 2050 net-zero goal.
