TAIPEI (TVBS News) — According to the Water Resources Agency, rainfall from 7 a.m. on Friday (March 29) to 7 a.m. on Sunday (March 31) was primarily concentrated in reservoirs in the central and northern parts of Taiwan.

The total rainfall benefit for all reservoirs was estimated at 19.08 million tons, with the Feitsui Reservoir receiving the most rainfall at 3.9 million tons.

Officials from the agency said that while we are currently at the end of the dry season, the recent rainfall and potential precipitation during the Tomb-Sweeping holiday have brought a "glimmer of dawn."

The officials noted that all reservoirs across Taiwan maintain levels between 30% and 70%. Despite the beneficial rainfall, it has helped reduce the demand for agricultural water supply.

However, the official pointed out that the water storage rate continues to decline slowly due to water usage demands, "but at least the downward trend has changed."

The official also stated there is a chance of rainfall across Taiwan during the upcoming four-day holiday.

The Water Resources Agency will seize the opportunity to conduct artificial rainfall and cooperate with the Irrigation Agency to implement water-saving irrigation.
