TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The 59th Golden Bell Awards (第59屆金鐘獎) concluded on Oct. 19, celebrating the TVBS original series "Living" (有生之年) as a major winner with six awards, including Best Actor and Best Actress.
The series centers on family relationships involving the character Kao Chia-yueh (高嘉岳), played by Wu Kang-jen (吳慷仁), a foreign wanderer. The story follows the Kao family's journey and depicts modern individuals' struggles and growth when facing life's challenges.
Wu Kang-ren captured the Best Actor award, overcoming recent controversies surrounding his venture into China. Yang Kuei-mei (楊貴媚) took home the Best Actress award, expressing heartfelt gratitude to her on-screen family during her acceptance speech. Junior Hsieh (謝展榮) earned the Best Newcomer award, underscoring his potential in the entertainment industry.
President Lai Ching-te (賴清德) congratulated all winners in a post following the ceremony, thanking filmmakers, broadcasters, and content creators. He emphasized the deepening of Taiwan's media industry and pledged continued government support for innovative content creation. The Golden Bell Awards highlighted Taiwan's vibrant media landscape, with "Living" setting a benchmark for storytelling excellence.
