SHANGHAI (TVBS News) — Former Taiwanese President Ma Ying-jeou visited the venerable Fudan University, which has a history of 118 years, on the eleventh day of his sojourn in China.
His visit aimed to encourage youth exchange between Taiwan and China. Ma met with Jin Li, the President of Fudan University, who revealed that the university had established extensive exchange programs with 15 universities in Taiwan, including National Taiwan University, National Chengchi University, and Tsinghua University in Hsinchu.
Ma also participated in a forum where he shared his thoughts on his visit to Shanghai and reminisced about nearby Suzhou. He recited the Chinese poem "A Night-Mooring Near Maple Bridge" by Zhang Ji, delivered in the Hunan dialect.
At the forum, 28 Taiwanese students and 30 mainland Chinese students were seated together, allowing them to interact with each other.
