TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan's search and rescue team successfully rescued a woman stuck beneath the rubbles of a building in Turkey on Wednesday (Feb. 8) after digging for 5 hours.
According to TVBS's correspondent, rescuers detected the woman after she gave a faint cry for help, alerting rescue personnel to her location.
As the crawl space was tight and the foundation unstable, Taiwan's rescue team dug a tunnel for 5 hours to reach her.
The woman lost her vital signs when rescuers dragged her out of the ruins, but medical personnel successfully resuscitated her.
Turkey's devastating earthquake on Monday (Feb. 6) has now seen the death toll rise to 15,000 people, while many countries have sent search and rescue teams to help with disaster relief in the area.
