PINGTUNG (TVBS News) — The Chungshan Institute of Science and Technology (CSIST) conducted some missile tests on Monday and Tuesday (Feb. 6-7) in southern Taiwan.
Residents in Jiupengwan, Pingtung County, observed missiles being launched from a missile base on Tuesday morning, with sightings as far as 50 km away in Hengchun Township.

Defense experts speculate that the tests involved the Hsiung Feng II-E or Yun Feng missiles.
Currently, the CSIST, a Taiwanese state-owned corporation, operates 16 production lines, producing a variety of missiles.
