Explore the transformation of Taipei's Huashan 1914 Creative Park from a Japanese sake facility to a vibrant hub of art and creativity with the "Twinnen in Taiwan" — A vlog about the life of two exchange students from San Francisco in Taiwan. Discover unique installations, and traditional crafts at the Suho Paper Memorial Museum, and intricate miniatures, and end the journey with delicious vegetarian cuisine.
Our visit to Huashan 1914 Creative Park, a key cultural site in Taipei, began early in the day. The park, originally a Japanese sake facility established in 1914, later became a winery. It has now evolved into a hub for creativity and artistic expression, attracting a diverse audience with its unique installations and artworks.
Upon arrival, we immersed ourselves in the park's vibrant atmosphere. The transformation of the facility from a sake producer to a winery and now a center of art and creativity reflects the dynamic cultural evolution of the area. The park offers a variety of artistic exhibits, shops, and cafes, each contributing to its eclectic charm.
Our exploration led us to "Wooderful Life," a shop where visitors can craft their own wooden souvenirs, offering a hands-on experience of the park's creative spirit.
Next, we visited the Suho Paper Memorial Museum, dedicated to the legacy of Chen Suho in paper-making. This museum not only showcases the history of paper but also provides interactive experiences like paper-making classes, enriching visitors' understanding of this traditional craft.
At the Suho Paper Memorial Museum, we delved into the diverse types of paper and their historical origins. The museum's gift store offered a variety of unique souvenirs, allowing us to take a piece of this rich history home.
Our journey continued to the Miniature Museum of Taiwan, established by Lin Wen-jen and Lin Chin-Mei. Their passion for miniatures is evident in the museum's extensive collection, featuring intricate miniatures from around the world, each with remarkable attention to detail.
We concluded our day at Serenity Vegetarian Restaurant, renowned for its diverse vegetarian cuisine. The restaurant's peaceful ambiance and delicious dishes provided a fitting end to our culturally rich day.
