TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Central Weather Administration (CWA) expects a partial lunar eclipse will be visible across Taiwan from the early hours to dawn on Sunday, if the weather permits.

The penumbral stage will begin at 2 a.m. with the partial lunar eclipse starting at 3:35 a.m., the CWA said Wednesday (Oct. 25), as the southeastern part of the lunar surface will begin to darken.

The maximum eclipse will occur at 4:14 a.m., and the event will conclude with the moon regaining its brightness at 6:28 a.m., with the entire process lasting 4 hours and 28 minutes, the administration stated.

For the best viewing experience, the CWA suggested the public choose a location with an unobstructed view of the western sky. The next lunar eclipse visible in Taiwan will unfold on Sept. 7, 2025, the CWA added.
