TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Weather conditions in Taiwan took a cooler turn on Thursday (Oct. 12), with the lowest temperature dropping to below 20 degrees Celsius.
According to the Central Weather Administration (CWA), early morning and night temperatures hover between 22 and 24 degrees. Cities including Taipei, New Taipei, Keelung, Taoyuan, and eastern districts should prepare for rainfall. Miaoli County reported the coldest at 19.7 degrees.
The weather forecast predicts numerous clouds and occasional rain on the windward side on Thursday. Persistent rain will continue in areas north of Taoyuan and the eastern half. Isolated thunderstorms are likely in mountainous regions and the south in the afternoon.
In addition, Super Typhoon Bolaven is strengthening with a peak wind speed of 58 meters per second, ranking it alongside Typhoon Mawar as the strongest storm this year.
Fortunately, Typhoon Bolaven, which has already passed Guam, is currently on a north-northeasterly route and is projected to make a turn northeast, posing no threat to Taiwan.
