TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Ministry of National Defense (MND) released on Monday (April 24) a surveillance photo of Chinese PLAN aircraft carrier Shandong detected near Taiwan's waters.
The MND reported that the carrier was located approximately 120 nautical miles southeast of Cape Eluanbi, the southernmost point of Taiwan.
As the carrier is expected to continue sailing around southeast Taiwan, the MND has mobilized air and naval patrols and radar detection units. The ministry stressed that they are closely monitoring the situation and "will respond accordingly."
