TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) has recently stated that Taiwan's natural gas reserve could only last for 11 days in the event of an attack that cuts off the island's airways and ships, resulting in potential nationwide power outages.

As China continues to conduct military exercises near Taiwan, concerns over worst-case scenarios grow. However, experts suggest that isolating Taiwan from the rest of the world would prove challenging for enemy forces.

According to an assistant professor at the Tamkang School of Strategic Studies, such a move would negatively affect other Southeast and Northeast Asian countries.

Analysts predict that China would prefer a swift attack on Taiwan to prevent other countries from coming to Taiwan's aid. However, current circumstances suggest a full-scale invasion would be too costly for China.

Despite this, experts believe China will continue to exert political pressure on Taiwan to deny its sovereignty.
