TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Quanta Computer Inc. (廣達) announced an unprecedented financial performance for March, reporting revenue of NT$192.547 billion (US$5.83 billion). This figure represents a 27.9% surge compared to February and an impressive 89.3% increase year-over-year. The remarkable growth, driven largely by strong AI server shipments, marks a new milestone for the company, establishing a record high in its monthly earnings.
For the first quarter, Quanta's total revenue soared to NT$485.671 billion (US$14.71 billion), highlighting a 16.36% increase from the prior quarter and an 87.56% rise from the previous year. The company also saw substantial growth in its laptop segment, shipping 4.9 million units in March — a month-over-month increase of 58.06% and a year-over-year rise of 4.25%.
Throughout the first quarter, Quanta shipped a total of 10.8 million laptops, reflecting a 2.7% decline from the preceding quarter but a 2.85% increase year-over-year. The company attributed this growth in laptop shipments to the end-of-quarter effect and a strategic customer response to enhanced tariff measures.
In the face of global uncertainties brought by U.S. tariff measures, Quanta has prioritized maintaining strong communication with its clientele. The company reported an uptick in AI server shipments during the latter part of the first quarter, projecting further growth as the second quarter unfolds.
As Quanta maneuvers through these complexities, industry analysts and stakeholders will keenly observe the company's strategic adaptations to maintain growth amid shifting trade policies. Investors and market participants are poised to watch closely for forthcoming announcements on Quanta's operational strategies and market performance in the months ahead.
