TAIPEI (TVBS News)— A survey released on Tuesday (Jan. 14) found that 95% of Taiwanese workers expressed a desire to change jobs after the Lunar New Year. This percentage marks a slight increase from last year's 94.7% and the previous year's 94.2%, reaching a 16-year high.
As the job market evolves, a survey from yes123 Job Bank, TSMC (台積電), Fubon Financial (富邦金), and Uni-President Enterprises Corp. (統一集團) are the most coveted employers. The survey results underscore a growing trend among Taiwanese workers seeking new opportunities, particularly in leading companies across various sectors.
In the traditional industry sector, workers most aspire to join Uni-President Enterprises Corp. (32.7%), Taiwan High Speed Rail (31.8%, 台灣高鐵), Evergreen Group (30.7%, 長榮集團), Formosa Plastics Group (29.5%, 台塑集團), and China Steel Corp. (28.1%, 中鋼). The next five preferred companies include Wowprime Corp. (26.4%, 王品集團), Eslite Bookstore (25%, 誠品), FamilyMart (23.4%, 全家), China Airlines (22.3%, 中華航空), and Far Eastern Group (21.2%, 遠東集團).
In the high-tech sector, TSMC leads with 45.9%, maintaining its position for the 11th consecutive year. Other top choices are Chunghwa Telecom (44.5%, 中華電信), Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. (37%, 鴻海), MediaTek (27.9%, 聯發科), and Asus (26.8%, 華碩). The subsequent ranks feature Largan Precision (25.7%, 大立光), ASE Group (21.8%, 日月光), Taiwan Mobile (17.6%, 台灣大哥大), United Microelectronics Corp. (16.7%, 聯電), and Quanta Computer (15.5%, 廣達).
