TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan Water Corporation (台水公司) has urged residents to stagger their cleaning schedules to avoid water shortages during the Lunar New Year. Officials from the company's fourth district office advised citizens to utilize the upcoming weekends to clean, reducing peak water usage on Jan. 27-28, according to a media report released on Monday (Jan. 6).
Many people traditionally engage in extensive cleaning just before the holiday, often leading to simultaneous high water demand. The company warned that this could result in low water pressure and minimal water availability. To prevent such issues, they suggested spreading out cleaning activities over the next two weekends. To ensure a reliable water supply during the holiday, the company has prepared a comprehensive water supply scheduling plan.
The company has completed inspections and maintenance of supply equipment and pipelines. This preparation aims to provide uninterrupted water service throughout the festive period. The company will remain operational during the holiday, offering assistance for water-related issues through its toll-free customer service line at 1910. Residents can also pay water bills at major convenience stores or by scanning a QR code with a smartphone.
