LIMA (TVBS News) — APEC representative Lin Hsin-i (林信義) arrived in Lima, Peru, on Wednesday (Nov. 13) for the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting. Peru's Director General of Economic Promotion, Augusto Morelli, welcomed Lin and his delegation at the airport. They traveled to the Hilton Lima Miraflores under police escort, complete with a helicopter flyover, reflecting the same treatment received by other economic leaders.
Approximately 30 overseas Taiwanese greeted Lin at the hotel, offering banners and bouquets in a warm reception. Lin then addressed the media, noting the flight went smoothly, before briefly stating that his mission is to attend the meeting.
He emphasized Taiwan's significant role in regional economic prosperity before he departed from Taoyuan International Airport (桃園國際機場). President Lai Ching-te (賴清德) appointed Lin, returning him as a leadership representative after 19 years.
