TAIPEI (TVBS News) — A rare baseball exhibition featuring Shohei Ohtani's (大谷翔平) record-breaking 50 home runs and 50 stolen bases ball opened at Taipei 101 (台北101) on Wednesday (Nov. 13). Taiwan's (台灣) UC Capital (優式資本) purchased the ball for NT$140 million, and fans can view it alongside memorabilia from Taiwanese baseball legends, including Chen Chin-feng (陳金鋒) and Wang Chien-ming (王建民).
Taipei 101 Chairwoman Janet Chia (賈永婕) emphasized the exhibition's significance, noting the swift coordination with UC Capital to secure the display. She expressed hope to attract up to 7,000 visitors daily, highlighting the exhibition's potential to boost foot traffic.
Given the high value of the items on display, Taipei 101 enlisted Taiwan Secom (中保科技集團) AI security services for round-the-clock monitoring, investing NT$5 million in security measures. Chia revealed the significant security investment, ensuring the safety of the exhibition's prized artifacts.
The exhibit will run until March 2, 2025. For Taiwanese passport holders, the full-price ticket to the Taipei 101 observatory costs NT$420.
