TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan Power Company (Taipower, 台電) dispatched repair crews to New Taipei City (新北市) on Wednesday (Sept. 25), after nearly 3,000 households experienced an unplanned power outage due to equipment failure.
Taipower apologized for the inconvenience, citing significant damage to the equipment as the cause of the delay in repairs.
The outage began at 8:15 a.m., affecting New Taipei's Banqiao District (板橋區) and Zhonghe District (中和區). Specifically, the areas impacted included Chang'an Street (長安街), Han Sheng East Road (漢生東路), Hai Shan Road (海山路), and Yuanshan Road (員山路).
Taipower reported that 2,970 households lost power. By 11 a.m., repair crews had restored power to 2,767 households, leaving 203 still without electricity.
