TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Taiwan People's Party (TPP, 民眾黨) announced Wednesday (Sept. 11) that another gathering will take place Friday outside the New Taipei City Banqiao Stadium (新北體育館) ticket office to address concerns over judicial justice.
Speaking at a press conference, TPP spokesperson Adam Lee (李頂立) highlighted the party's commitment to listening to the public without preconceived notions and urged all concerned to participate.
Lee explained that local branches will decide the format of these events, with the New Taipei City event featuring a simple backdrop and soapbox, unlike last week’s large-scale rally.
The TPP has scheduled 12 nationwide events, including outdoor talks, living room meetings, forums, and briefings, spanning across northern, central, southern, and eastern Taiwan. This Friday evening outdoor talk will be followed by two simultaneous Saturday events in Chiayi (嘉義) and Pingtung (屏東).
Last Sunday, the TPP gathered in front of the Legislative Yuan to support former Taipei Mayor and TPP Chairman Ko Wen-je (柯文哲), who is currently detained in connection with the Core Pacific City redevelopment scandal. The party reported a turnout of nearly 20,000 attendees and 100,000 online viewers.
The TPP stated that its upcoming events aim to foster public discourse on judicial fairness and justice, with further details to be shared on the website.
