TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwanese badminton player Lee Chia-hao (李佳豪) advanced to the semifinals of the Yonex Taipei Open (台北羽球公開賽) on Friday (Sept. 6).
Lee, currently ranked 24th in the world, secured his victory with scores of 14-21, 21-13, and 21-15 in his first-ever match against Panitchaphon Teeraratsakul of Thailand.
The badminton player expressed his excitement about reaching the semifinals at home, stating that the atmosphere created by the cheering fans was incomparable to any international event he had experienced.
In the semifinals, Lee will face Lin Chun-yi (林俊易). Lin shared his thoughts on the upcoming match, noting their close relationship. Lin believes their match will be exciting due to their friendship and frequent practice sessions.
