TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Organizers of this year's National Day event in Taiwan will allow 500 citizens to register for a computer lottery to attend the celebration. People aged 18 and above with a national ID can sign up from Sept. 5 to 12.
The "National Day Preparation Committee" (國慶籌備委員會) will announce the results of the draw at noon on Sept. 20, notifying winners via text message, email, and by sending invitation cards and attendance certificates.
However, some users noticed errors in the date options when entering birth dates on the registration website. The errors included non-existent dates like Feb. 31 and Jan. 42, while Aug. lacked the 31st day of the month.
The committee explained that these issues arose when the vendor adjusted the display format between the ROC calendar and the Gregorian calendar.
The committee assured the public that the errors did not affect registration rights and that the vendor had already corrected the mistakes. They emphasized their commitment to enhancing vendor performance management, system monitoring, functionality optimization, and performance adjustments to improve system stability and security.
