TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Taipei Botanical Garden (台北植物園) announced on Friday (Nov. 1) that it will close for two additional days to ensure public safety after Typhoon Kong-rey (康芮) caused significant damage. The storm broke or toppled numerous trees, leaving debris scattered across the grounds.
The garden's management reported that the closure will extend through Saturday and Sunday to allow for thorough cleanup efforts. Regular tours scheduled for Saturday and themed tours on Sunday have been canceled.
A statement released by the Taipei Botanical Garden last night confirmed that despite Taipei City's normal operations, the garden remained closed on Friday to address the cleanup needs.
