TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Quanta (廣達) Senior Vice President Mike Yang (楊麒令) announced on Thursday (Sept. 5) that growing AI demand will likely boost the company's third-quarter performance. Yang emphasized that improving supply chain conditions would further enhance AI development in the latter half of the year.
Yang noted that the existing demand remains robust despite some products entering a transition period. He stated that Quanta's second-quarter financial report was excellent, and the third quarter is highly likely to look even better.
Yang attributed the Taiwan stock market's plunge on Wednesday to temporary fluctuations. He explained that the downturn was mainly influenced by news of an antitrust investigation into NVIDIA (輝達), which NVIDIA has denied. Yang expects the market to recover quickly.
When asked about AMD's (超微) plan to acquire server supplier ZT Systems and potentially divest its hardware manufacturing business, Yang responded that Quanta is currently focused on expanding its facilities and unlikely to consider acquisitions in the short term.
