TAIPEI (TVBS News) — NVIDIA (輝達) CEO Jensen Huang (黃仁勳) saw his net worth surge by nearly US$12 billion on Wednesday (July 31), setting a personal record for single-day wealth growth, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. This dramatic increase followed a historic overnight rise in NVIDIA's market value by US$329 billion.
NVIDIA's stock has experienced significant volatility recently. Investors, anticipating a Federal Reserve interest rate cut in September, had been pulling out of high-priced tech stocks. However, the situation reversed on Wednesday after competitor AMD (超微) issued an optimistic revenue forecast reflecting strong AI demand.
NVIDIA's stock closed up 13% at $117.02 on Wednesday, marking a record $329 billion increase in market value. The stock has risen 136% this year.
Huang, 61, is now the world's 14th richest person, trailing Michael Dell, founder, chairman, and CEO of Dell Technologies. In June, Huang sold nearly US$169 million worth of stock under a pre-set trading plan, the highest amount he has cashed out in a single month.
