TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwanese pop diva Jody Chiang (江蕙) confirmed on Tuesday (Aug. 27) that she will make her comeback performance at the National Day gala on Oct. 5 at the Taipei Dome (台北大巨蛋). This event marks her return to the stage after a nine-year hiatus, delighting her numerous fans.
Chiang, through Kuang Hong Arts Management (寬宏藝術), expressed her desire to bring warmth and strength to her audience through her music once again.
Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an (蔣萬安) and Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chi-mai (陳其邁) recently invited Jody Chiang to perform. Mayor Chiang highlighted that only Jody Chiang deserved the historical moment of the Taipei Dome's first non-sporting event.
Yin Wei (殷瑋), spokesperson of the Taipei City Government, stated that the government is honored to have Jody Chiang perform at the National Day gala. The spokesperson highlighted that this is the first large-scale non-sporting event at the Taipei Dome.
Chiang retired in 2015 after concluding 16 farewell concerts, leaving a void in the Taiwanese music scene. Her return has sparked excitement among her fans, who have eagerly awaited this moment for nearly a decade.
