TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Raymond Greene assumed charge as Director of the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) on Tuesday (July 9). Greene, a seasoned diplomat with 28 years of experience, aims to strengthen the U.S.-Taiwan partnership further.

The AIT press release highlighted that this marks Greene's third posting in Taiwan, following his tenure as AIT Deputy Director from 2018 to 2021. Most recently, he served as Deputy Chief of Mission in Tokyo, Japan, from 2021 to 2024.

Greene, a member of the State Department's Senior Foreign Service, has dedicated his career to advancing U.S. diplomatic, economic, and security engagement in the Indo-Pacific region.
