TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) legislator Kuo Kuo-wen unveiled on Wednesday (Nov. 1) that Representative to the U.S. Hsiao Bi-khim's high societal recognition may be the main reason she is being considered a top candidate as running mate for the party's presidential hopeful Lai Ching-te.
In a Tuesday preview of Lai's online TV interview "Dawindining," the DPP candidate revealed that he has multiple considerations for his vice-presidential choice, with six individuals recommended by various sectors.
When the host, Li Si-duan, asked if Hsiao was topping the candidate list, Lai responded, "You can say that."
In addition to Hsiao, Lai said other potential running mates include Cheng Li-chun, the chairwoman of the Foundation for Future Generations, and other representatives from technology and cultural industries.
