TAIPEI (TVBS News) — According to a recent poll conducted by a Chinese-language media outlet, approximately one-third of respondents (33.8%) would attribute responsibility to Ko Wen-je, the Taiwan People's Party (TPP) presidential candidate, in the event of a future collaboration between the Kuomintang (KMT) and TPP failing.

In another scenario, if Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) presidential candidate Lai Ching-te were to join forces with Taiwan's Representative in the U.S., Hsiao Bi-khim, 35.3% of those surveyed expressed their support for this potential partnership, as reported by ETtoday on Monday (Oct. 30).

The poll also unveiled that a joint effort featuring Hou Yu-ih as the presidential candidate and Ko Wen-je as the vice president garnered a 41.1% approval rating. In comparison, 40.9% of respondents favored Ko as the leader over Hou, surpassing the popularity of both the Lai-Hsiao and Gou-Lai teams.

Regarding accountability, 16.3% of the respondents would hold KMT presidential candidate Hou Yu-ih responsible, while 13.6% would point fingers at King Pu-tsung, and 5.9% at Huang Shan-shan. Terry Gou, the founder of Foxconn, and Lai Pei-hsia, a Taiwanese actress, received 8.8% of the backing. However, a significant 28.4% of respondents had no opinion or knowledge regarding who should be held most accountable.
