TAIPEI (TVBS News) — National Development Council (NDC) Minister Kung Ming-hsin emphasized on Friday (Oct. 27) that Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) is well-equipped to establish a factory in Germany smoothly.
This remark comes after the Investment Commission of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEAIC) approved TSMC's plans for a new factory in Germany a day earlier.
While participating in a Taiwan-Germany cooperation roundtable discussion organized by the European Chamber of Commerce, Kung highlighted that TSMC's experience in establishing facilities in the United States and Japan positions it favorably for fostering future global development.
Furthermore, Kung highlighted the growing global importance of semiconductor manufacturing, particularly in light of the challenges posed by the pandemic.
Kung also underlined the importance of Taiwan's ongoing investments in next-generation semiconductor research to meet the evolving demands of AI and digital transformation.
This forward-looking approach is critical for the semiconductor industry's future in Taiwan and beyond.
