TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Central Weather Administration (CWA) reported on Monday (Oct. 23) that the northeast monsoon continues to weaken, leading to rising temperatures in northern Taiwan.
However, substantial diurnal temperature variations are expected south of Hsinchu, so commuters are advised to be prepared for these changes.
On Monday, weather conditions across Taiwan will range from comfortable to slightly hot. Temperatures in the northern and eastern regions are expected to reach 26 to 29 degrees Celsius, while temperatures in the central and southern areas will hover around 31 degrees.
In the evening, temperatures are projected to drop to approximately 21 to 24 degrees, with some sparsely populated areas in the north and central regions possibly reaching as low as 20 degrees.
From Monday through Thursday, easterly winds driven by high-pressure systems may result in brief, localized showers in the eastern half of the island. Weather conditions in the west are expected to remain stable, although air quality may decline.
However, the northeast monsoon is forecasted to strengthen from Friday to Saturday, leading to increased moisture and rainfall in windward areas. On Sunday, there's a chance of a low-pressure system passing over the region.
