TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Tokyo University of Agriculture Second High School "Emerald Knights" make their first trip to Taiwan to perform at this year's National Day. President Tsai Ing-wen prepared Taiwanese popcorn chicken and lemon aiyu jelly for them on Sunday (Oct. 8).

On Monday, they will participate in a joint exchange with the Naval Academy marching band, UCLA Bruin Marching Band, and Chien Kuo High School Marching Band. The event takes place at the outdoor plaza of the National Theater and Concert Hall.

On Oct. 10, they will participate in the National Day Celebration performance. The Emerald Knights will perform an anime medley familiar to the Taiwanese.

In addition to the Tokyo University of Agriculture Second High School students, the Solid Gold Sound of the UCLA Bruins Marching Band will also be participating. This marks the first time a U.S. performance group has graced the stage of Taiwan's National Day.
