TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Central Weather Administration anticipates Typhoon Bolaven to escalate into a moderate typhoon on Monday (Oct. 9), with potential development into a severe typhoon while modifying its path northward.
The weather agency has issued a heavy rain advisory for Yilan, Keelung, Taipei, and New Taipei, warning residents of localized thundershower situations in central and southern Taiwan. Nonetheless, the northern and eastern halves of the island face a higher probability of rainfall.
Currently situated southeast of Guam, Bolaven will likely speed up and make a northeastward turn by Friday (Oct.13), moving away and expectedly causing no significant impact on Japan.
Local authorities urge residents in the warned areas to stay updated with the latest weather forecasts and take necessary precautions.
