NEW TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The 6th Army Corps Command conducted on Thursday (July 20) anti-landing drills in critical coastal areas of Pa-li Beach and Taipei Harbor.

The drill unfolded ahead of the Ministry of National Defense's 39th Han Kuang exercises scheduled to from July 24 to 28.

As Taiwan is set to conduct its five-day annual war games next week, the military has intensified its training in northern Taiwan earlier that day, including joint, sea, and air exercises, to test the combat capability of armed forces.

AAV7 amphibious assault vehicles, CM11 battle tanks, and Clouded Leopard armored vehicles were observed at Pa-li beach. At the same time, Apache and Black Hawk helicopters were deployed in the simulation of a military invasion.

In related news, the area around Taipei Harbor, Pa-li Beach, and Tamsui River's estuary were believed to be where the Chinese would attack first, where the armed forces considered critical to perform live-fire drills in recent years.

Accompanied by a group of military officials, the National Security Council deputy secretary general, York W. Chen, and the Chief of the General Staff, Mei Chia-shu, inspected the simulation and expressed high anticipation for the armed forces when the official Han Kuang exercises kicked off next week.
