TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taipei City councilors visited the Taipei Dome early on Tuesday (May 9) to assess the arena before its eventual public opening later this year.
During the preview, they expressed concerns about the white benches in the stands and their potential to obstruct baseball players' view of airborne balls.
In addition, there were calls for expansion of the players' resting area and cheerleaders' platforms.
Farglory Group General Manager Jacky Yang addressed the concerns and promised to make further adjustments if necessary.
"We will request baseball teams to try it out to ensure that the lighting and color temperature is suitable," Yang said. "We will also ensure that these factors do not disrupt the games and make any necessary adjustments."
The sodding process for the fields is currently in its final stages. Once completed, Taipei Dome could obtain an operation license by July before upgrades are completed by the end of the year.
